The Chikori church is a church on the eastern edge of Tashiskari, at the entrance to the Borjomi gorge. The building is dated to the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries: the time when the Kartli villages were being built up with stone churches after the old models: the proportions and masonry here inherit the medieval Kartli tradition.
Together with the Tausa church on the other side of the village, Chikori makes Tashiskari a two-part stop on the way to Borjomi: two churches, ten minutes of road and a first acquaintance with the gorge before the resort bustle. From here the Borjomi park is under an hour away.
The church is seen freely, with the ordinary courtesy of a working place: modest dress and a quiet voice. The old masonry needs care, especially by the northern wall.
