The Father's Monastery of Kozifa, also known as the Gugomi complex, is located in the heart of Shida Kartli, at the foot of the mountain, among dense forests and gorges. The history of the monastery goes back to the deep centuries VII-IX, when the initial foundation of the faith was laid. Discoveries of styles and architectural features indicate active construction in the 13th century, when the monastery acquired its current grandeur and splendor. Stories and chronicles of the past speak of monastic life that flourished here for centuries, until it was interrupted in the 17th century as a result of enemy invasions.
However, thanks to the efforts of Metropolitan Ruiz-Urbnisi Job, the monastery rose from ruins in 1997, acquiring new life and significance.
