The church stands on the site of the deserted Rieti near Kvemo Rieti village of Kareli Municipality. Locally it is also known as the Kurtanidze church, after the family that looked after it.
Kvemo Rieti lies north of Kareli, in the hills above the Kura valley. The Galiskhevi naeklesiari stands a kilometre away, with the church of the Virgin at Bneleti not far off.
Access is free at any time, and the path runs through the grass. Candles are left here, and the stones and masonry deserve careful treatment.
