The Green Sakdari stands in Tkemala village in the west of Shida Kartli and is well known in the area: people travel here on purpose. The name reads directly, mtsvane meaning green.
The village also has an active Holy Trinity church. Tkemala lies between Gori and Kareli, in the hills above the Kura valley; a church of the same name stands in Gardateni at the Ateni gorge.
Regular services may not be held, and the church can be approached at any time. Modest clothing is appropriate, and the old walls deserve careful treatment.
