The church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in Ivlita is the parish church of a village south-east of Akhaltsikhe and one of the most alive places of the whole Akhaltsikhe country. The place is kept and welcoming: a village church showing itself at its best: a clean yard, fresh flowers, an open door.
The church lives a full parish cycle: services, the patronal feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God in September, christenings. The town is a few kilometres away, so Ivlita fits easily into one short circle with Skhvilisi and the Potskhovi valley: three or four churches in half a day.
Guests are met kindly, and the rules are usual: modest dress, a headscarf for women, silence during worship. On the September patronal day the church is especially busy.
