The church stands in the rural part of Akhaltsikhe Municipality, away from large villages. It is a single building without a fence or annexes.
The nearest marked site, the Bieti church in Gurkeli, is about two and a half kilometres away. The Akhaltsikhe district lies in a basin ringed by ranges, and the population is mixed: Orthodox Georgians, Armenians, Catholics and Muslims. Akhaltsikhe itself is known for the Rabati fortress in the town centre.
Modest clothing is expected, with shoulders and knees covered. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.
