The village church of Mugareti stands in Akhaltsikhe municipality, on the right bank of the Kura. No dedication has stuck to the title, and the church is called simply by the village.
Two kilometres away lies Giorgitsminda, whose name means Saint George, and five kilometres off the Bieti church by Gurkeli village. Akhaltsikhe is about eleven kilometres away.
