In the mountains of Svaneti, where time seems to stop, the Temple of St. George rises - a majestic testimony to history, buried in the 14th century. Welcoming its guests in the village of Ugvali, Mestia municipality, this temple amazes with its modest beauty and ancient wisdom.

The brotherhood of Anton and Mikhail Umpriani, spiritually attached to their faith, poured their souls into the creation of this wonderful place, as their images, comfortably located on the northern wall, remind us of. Despite the passing centuries, the temple has retained its pristine atmosphere thanks to a single entrance from the west and a wrought iron door, majestically decorated with images of animals, people and astral symbols.

Penetrating inside the temple through the extensions, guests are immersed in a world steeped in ancient legends and historical events. The interior, decorated with ancient frescoes, seems to tell its own story, leaving a feeling of a time loop where past and present are intertwined into a single whole.

The Church of St. George is not just a building, it is a living oasis of ancient faith and culture, which is worth visiting for anyone who seeks to plunge into the atmosphere of the mysterious and sublime, where every stone and fresco is a part of history, calling to itself from the depths centuries.
