The Marian church of Iskari carries the Svan name Lamaria; it is also mentioned as a church of Barbare, that is St. Barbara, so both dedications live side by side.
Iskari lies seventeen kilometres from Mestia. Two more shrines stand in the village: the Kurashi church of St. George a kilometre away and the temple of the Mother of God eight hundred metres off.
