The salotsavi is dedicated to St. Barbara, and the first word of its name, sakvirao, means of Sunday. In Racha that was the name for places where a village gathered on a Sunday when no service was held in the parish church.
Zemo Skhvava lies seven kilometres from Ambrolauri. The salotsavi closes the chain of four village shrines: the Trinity church stands only four hundred and twenty metres away, the church of Dzeli Cheshmaritebisa one kilometre and six hundred, the church of the Archangel the same distance in the other direction.
The neighbours here stand side by side and look alike, so follow the coordinates. Places of prayer are rarely locked and can be approached at any hour. Candles are left where others set them, and nothing is moved. The road from Ambrolauri is passable all year.
