Of the church of St. George bearing the name Shkhudala only ruins remain. The dedication has survived, the building has not, and the address ties the place to Alpana: the name of the tract has outlived both the church and the hamlet it belonged to.
The place lies ten kilometres from Tsageri. Very close, four hundred and sixty metres away, stands a salotsavi of the same name: one tract, two churches, ruins at one and a place of prayer at the other. The ruins of Zogishi stand two kilometres off, the church of St. George of Zeda Sairme three.
Two places of one name four hundred metres apart are easy to confuse, so follow the coordinates. What there is to see is the masonry rather than walls: the stones are not moved, the foundation is not stepped on, nothing is taken away. In summer the grass grows high.
