Tavkapitsa is known as a historic complex rather than a single church: the name covers a whole site with traces of old buildings.
Zemo Nichbisi means Upper Nichbisi, and the Umzeura church of the same village stands about a kilometre and eight hundred and fifty metres away. Lower down the slope lies Kvemo Nichbisi with a church of its own, and beyond it begins the Saskhori district, where the shrines stand especially close together.
The site is open, there are no gates, and you can come at any hour. Walk between the buildings with attention: the old masonry holds poorly and the grass hides stones. The place suits a walk with children, though they still need watching by the walls.
