Abuleti is known as a monastic complex: the name covers a whole site with traces of buildings rather than a single church.
The complex stands apart from the main Dzegvi cluster: two and a half kilometres from here to the great church of St George in the village, a little over two to the Khekordzi church of St George. Dzegvi stretches along the Mtkvari between Mtskheta and Kaspi, and the village holds more than a dozen churches.
The site is open, there are no gates, and you can come at any hour. Walk between the buildings with attention: the old masonry holds poorly and the grass hides stones. The place is still revered, and one should behave by these walls as in a working church.
