This church carries a folk name that translates literally as the heart of the great sun. Where it came from is not explained in the district, and the dedication of the building has not come down to us.
The spot lies near Jankhoshi, east of Marneuli. The name of the churches to Tserakvi, a village three kilometres away where the church of St George stands. Jankhoshi itself is also known for the Zargari church, so old places are plentiful in the area.
On the spot it is worth remembering that the names here are tangled: one and the same place may be called after the village, after the tract of land, or by a folk byname. There are no regular services and people come freely.
