A working church dedicated to Saint George in Avranlo. It is one of the few churches of the village standing right among the houses: most prayer places here are set on the outskirts and by the roads.
Avranlo leads the area in the number of shrines: a dozen and a half churches and samlotsvelos in a single village. The nearest neighbours of this church are barely a hundred metres away: the second prayer place of Saint Nino and those of Saint Charalampos and Saint Catherine.
Avranlo is best walked on foot, as from one shrine to the next is rarely more than two hundred metres. The rules are the same everywhere: covered shoulders and knees, quiet, and a headscarf is useful for women.
