The church is dedicated to Saint Demetre and stands at Velispiri by the village of Ganakhleba. Such a double reference is usual in these parts: the locality has its own name, the village another, and a church may be called after either.
Ganakhleba lies south of Tsalka, on the road towards the Dmanisi lands. Another church of the village, of Saint Elias, stands about a kilometre away, and further north begins Sarkineti with its three shrines.
The stop is easily combined with neighbouring Sarkineti: about three kilometres separate them. The rules are those of any working church: covered shoulders and knees, quiet, and a headscarf is useful for women.
