A church of the Ascension in Sarkineti. In the Georgian calendar the feast is called Amaghleba and is kept on the fortieth day after Easter, so its date differs every year.
This is the third and southernmost shrine of Sarkineti. The other two, the church of Saint Basil with its prayer place and the village church on the northern edge, stand together about two kilometres away. Nearest of all to this church is the church of Saint Elias in neighbouring Ganakhleba, some two kilometres off.
The whole set of shrines of the village cannot be walked, a car is needed. The rules are those of any working church: covered shoulders and knees, quiet, and a headscarf is useful for women.
