The church is dedicated to Saint Basil, and beside it stands a samlotsvelo, a small prayer place. A samlotsvelo is usually very small, sometimes no larger than a niche, and serves for short personal prayer rather than for a common service.
Sarkineti lies south of Tsalka, at the rim of the upland. The village holds three churches: this one, a village church three hundred metres to the north, and the Ascension church to the south, a little over two kilometres away.
The two northern shrines can be walked in five minutes, while the third needs transport. The prayer place keeps no schedule of its own and can be approached at any time; in the church keep to the usual rules: covered shoulders and knees, quiet.
