The chapel is dedicated to the martyrs Kvirike and Ivlita, a son and his mother. In Georgian usage their names sound as Kvirike and Ivlita, and churches dedicated to them are found across the whole country, from Kakheti to Svaneti.
The building stands on the eastern edge of Rekha and closes the circle of local shrines. It is a little over four hundred metres from here to the Archangel church and about seven hundred to the St George chapel, so the whole village with its five holy places can be walked in an hour.
There are no regular services here and the door is usually unlocked. Inside it is cramped and dark, and candles are lit by the entrance.
