The church of the Exaltation of the Cross stands in Khando and is the most noticeable of the local buildings. The feast it is dedicated to recalls the finding of the Cross in Jerusalem and falls in autumn.
Half a kilometre away is the small village chapel, and an Armenian church is known in the village as well. Three shrines of different traditions in one village are an ordinary thing for the Tsalka plateau, where Georgian, Armenian and Greek families lived side by side for centuries.
There are no regular services, and visits are arranged with local people. The place is open, and both village churches can be walked in half an hour.
