A village church in Asureti with no name of its own: neither a dedication nor a nickname has stuck to it, and the area knows it simply as the church. For village churches that is not rare.
Asureti lies south west of Tbilisi, in the hilly belt between the capital and Tetritskaro. The nearest neighbours in the area are the church of Saint George in Enageti about four kilometres away and the Mariamoba church in Borbalo a little further.
These three churches fit into a single trip from the city. The rules are those of any working church: covered shoulders and knees, quiet, and a headscarf is useful for women.
