The church of St. George stands in the southern part of Vanta village in Telavi Municipality. It is one of several churches of the village at the foot of the Tsiv-Gombori range.
The Gziri Bagi church of the Virgin Mary is a few hundred steps away, and two churches of St. John the Baptist stand in other parts of the village. The Saghandzili ruins lie in the foothills to the southwest.
Regular services may not be held, and the church can be approached at any time. Modest clothing is appropriate, and candles and offerings are left in their places.
