The church of Saint George in Bodbiskhevi consists of two parts of different periods and therefore looks unusually elongated. The original hall, Dated to about the 16th century, lost its west wall, and at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries a long new space and a three tier brick bell tower with a gate were added to it.
The masonry gives the difference of periods away. The old volume is set entirely in cobble, with single bricks inserted only at the outer corners. The walls of the later part are mostly brick with courses of cobble at even intervals, and inside all the structural elements are of brick. A second gate is made in the south wall of the later part.
There are several entrances, the southern and western ones dressed with semicircular arches, and one more opening in the north wall of the old building was added later: its brick door with a full arch is recessed from the plane of the wall and crowned by a narrow ribbed band. A low window is cut on the axis of the semicircular apse, with two arched and one rectangular niche to its left and an arched and a corner niche to its right. The long walls of the old part carry four two tier pilasters with the arches of the vault thrown across them.
