The church dedicated to Saint Stephen stands near Ozaani, about seven hundred metres from the local Trinity church. Stephen the Protomartyr is venerated as the first deacon, and few churches in Kakheti carry his name.
Ozaani lies in the southeast of Kakheti, where vineyards give way to steppe. Roads here run between fields, settlement is sparse and the distances between villages are noticeable. Sighnaghi with its fortress wall and the road to Dedoplistskaro are both close.
A headscarf is useful for women, as it may be required at the entrance. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.

- Allow no more than half an hour for the visit.
- Bring water, as there are no kiosks nearby.
- It is better to leave a dog outside.

- Navigate by the coordinates, as there may be no signs on the approach.
- Ask locals for directions, since the short way is not always obvious.
