The church is called Jvarpatiosani, meaning the Precious Cross. It stands in the surroundings of Telavi, outside the town limits.
The site lies south of the town, on the slopes by the Gombori range, with a view over the Alazani valley. The road comes from the Telavi bypass, and the last stretch climbs uphill.
Visits are free and modest dress is appropriate for services. A headscarf is useful for women, and quiet is expected inside.
