The Holy Trinity church stands at Ozhio, a small settlement of the Akhmeta municipality. The place is modest and little known: for a long time it had no name of its own in the general listings, and the toponym could only be named from the address.
The settlement lies south-east of Akhmeta, by the very edge of the Alazani valley where the plain gives way to the foothills. A dedication to the Holy Trinity is among the most frequent in Kakheti: the immediate area alone holds several Trinity churches, told apart by the name of the village. To the north begins the Pankisi valley, and further on the road climbs into Tusheti over the Abano pass.
The church keeps no fixed schedule and can be approached at any time. The final stretch is a village road that turns heavy in rain. Dress with shoulders and knees covered and keep quiet.
