Of the church in Damasti, walls and part of the masonry remain. There is no roof, trees have grown inside, and the outline of the building reads only from close up.
Damasti belongs to Akhmeta Municipality and lies in the same cluster of villages as Sakobiano and Bakilovani. The setting is that of the foothills: narrow valleys, beech forest and pastures on the slopes. There is no steady flow of visitors, and the ruins are usually quiet.
Do not move objects left by the walls. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.
