A village church about which one word is known: church. Neither a dedication, nor a second name, nor a year of building has survived. The same case has already come up in Dusheti, and the approach is the same: we name what is confirmed and invent nothing further.
Skande lies in eastern Imereti between Zestafoni and Terjola, in the belt where the plain turns into hills. The village is small, it has one church, and there is no tourist flow here.
The dedication is easiest to learn from the villagers: in places like this it is remembered even when no papers remain. There are no regular services, so a Sunday morning is the surer time to come. Dress modestly, women wear a headscarf.
