A parish church of Saint George, the church of the upper half of the village. The prefix zeda marks the upper part, and Sazano, like most villages of this belt, is split in two along the slope.
The village lies in the eastern part of Imereti, between Terjola and Zestafoni. The place is quiet, off the tourist routes, and those who come are mostly residents of the district. The century of building is not established and no details have survived.
There are no regular services, so a Sunday morning is the surer time to come. The upper villages of this belt make an easy single circuit: Sazano, Simoneti and Beretisa lie close together. Dress modestly, women wear a headscarf.
