The Archangel church stands by the road north of Kutaisi. No village is attached to it: the building ended up between settlements, and in the district it is called simply the church by the road.
The nearest landmark is Rioni, a little over two kilometres from here. Rioni itself has its own shrines, the St Nicholas monastery and the church of the Transfiguration, so the three churches make up a short route along the valley.
There are no regular services and people come freely. The spot is roadside and open, and it is better to pull over where the shoulder is wider.
