Laituri holds two mosques at once, and that is the best evidence of how visible the Muslim community is here.
The settlement grew around a railway junction, and junctions always gather a mixed population: hence the confessional variety, unusual for Guria as a whole. This mosque, the northern one, stands closer to the centre of the settlement, while the second is about two and a half kilometres to the south.
The rules are the usual ones: shoes are removed at the entrance, shoulders and knees should be covered, and women need a headscarf. Sightseeing during prayer is out of place, and photography inside is best agreed first. The mosque has a toilet.
