Successful results of the Adjara sea season: the growth of tourist flow

The excellent results in the sea tourist season in Adjara caused joy to the head of this region, Tornike Rizhvadze. He stressed that the number of visitors to resorts continues to increase. Comparing this season with previous years, you can find an increase in tourist traffic by 20% compared to the previous record set in 2019 and by 46% compared to last year, 2022.

Not only the number of tourists, but also the number of international flights at Batumi airport has increased significantly. Comparing the data with last year, there is a twelve percent increase of 12%, and from 2019 – by 6%. These indicators demonstrate a growing interest in the region.

In the first six months of this year, the number of foreign tourists in Georgia reached almost three million people, which is 75.9% more than in the same period last year. Revenues from foreign travelers for the first half of 2023 already amount to almost two billion dollars, or sixty percent more than in 2022, and already 24% more than in the pre-pandemic 2019, despite the fact that the number of tourists has not yet reached the pre-pandemic level.
