From June 1, entry to Georgia is again available for foreigners

All border crossings have been closed since March 2020 due to the pandemic. A year later, in the winter of 2021, Georgia resumed flights with other countries and it was possible to cross the border in case of a negative PCR test.

At the same time, experts said that the blocked land border with Russia and Turkey would greatly slow down the restoration of local tourism, which is categorically not desirable in the current situation.

"From the beginning of summer, it will be possible to enter the territory," the head of the operational headquarters at the Interdepartmental Coordination Council confirmed. This encouraging and important decision for the region was made yesterday with the participation of the government, medical workers and epidemiologists. The visit is allowed to persons who have papers certifying the completion of a full course of vaccination and a certificate of a non-positive test passed.

If you have only the test result on hand, you can do only with them, but upon arrival in Georgia in the next 3 days you need to take another test. Also, all visitors are recommended to have insurance that pays for treatment from COVID-19.

Guests from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bahrain, Belarus, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Israel, Norway, UAE, Russia, Northern Ireland and the USA, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Switzerland, and residents of EU countries will be able to get to Georgia without vaccination. Citizens of Canada, China, Kuwait, Moldova, Oman, South Korea and Japan can be added to this list.

As before, visitors from all countries except India can visit Georgia by making a regular flight, if they have documents confirming the timely implementation of two vaccinations with the vaccine. After passing the test, with a negative result, they are expected to undergo a 2-week mandatory quarantine.
