China Southern Airlines flights from Tbilisi to China will become daily
From September 12, Chinese citizens will be able to stay in Georgia without a visa for one month if their arrival in the country is a tourist. This decision on visa-free regime opens up opportunities for China Southern Airlines to expand its activities in Tbilisi.
According to information provided by TAV Georgia, the operator of the capital's airport, China Southern Airlines will start daily flights from Tbilisi International Airport to Urumqi. At the moment, the airline operates three flights a week on the route Tbilisi-Urumqi-Tbilisi. The increase in the frequency of flights indicates the growing demand for travel between these two countries.
It is important to note that China Southern Airlines returned to the Georgian air transportation market in January 2023 after a break caused by the pandemic, which lasted for three years from 2020. Daily flights between Tbilisi and Urumqi will contribute to the development of tourism, strengthen business ties and further develop bilateral relations between Georgia and China.
