The development of the new multifunctional VR Shekvetili Forest Beach complex by Paragraph in the village of Shekvetili (Guria) next to the Paragraph Hotel represents a huge potential for the development of the Georgian tourism sector at a higher level, said Levan Davitashvili, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

Held at the signing ceremony of a memorandum of cooperation between VR Holding and the Georgian Tourism Development Fund, the Shekvetili Forest Beach by Paragraph VR development project on the Black Sea coast promises to raise the quality of the tourism sector to a new level.

"Thanks to projects such as the Paragraph in Shekvetili, we were able to start the development of a high-quality tourism industry. It was an important breakthrough that significantly changes the country's tourism and hotel infrastructure," Davitashvili stressed.

The project will be implemented on an area of 40 hectares adjacent to the Paragraph Shekvetili Hotel and will include premium villas, several luxury residential complexes, a hotel and branded apartments.

The estimated investment value of Paragraph's VR Shekvetili Forest Beach is estimated at $600 million. The complex itself will be represented by a diverse resort infrastructure. Moreover, the complex will be as environmentally friendly as possible, with provided bicycle paths, golf carts and environmentally friendly transport.

Davitashvili noted that this project is an example of successful coexistence of an ecosystem and infrastructure that are effectively developing. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Georgia's tourism sector still has huge potential for development, and despite its severely damaged condition during the pandemic, the country is undergoing a rapid and

promising recovery.

"Last year, the tourism sector generated revenue of $ 3.5 billion, and in the first three quarters of this year it has already amounted to more than $ 3.3 billion. We expect this year to exceed $4 billion. In the first three quarters, we received 5.6 million tourists, which indicates recovery and growth trends," he added.

Davitashvili stressed that the country will be able to realize its tourism potential through the provision of high-quality services and tourist sites.
