The guesthouses have survived and are doing well
Tourism business is the basis of Georgia's economy. If there are no tourists, there is no tourist business and no service sector. It is more difficult for large companies to survive in a crisis: large hotels are a big responsibility.
Private guest houses turned out to be in a more advantageous position: the owner of the business — he is the owner of the house - is quietly waiting for tourist guests.
For a foreigner traveling around the country, staying at a local resident's house means getting an overnight stay, traditional cuisine in the form of homemade food and a free excursion into authentic Georgian life.
