Ecotourists are waiting for new objects

Forests occupy almost half of the territory of the state, they are located on 40% of the entire area of Georgia.

Coniferous and boreal forests are located at the eastern foothills of the mountains, the western coast of the Black Sea is also surrounded by wooded areas.

As part of the modification of the Forest Code, the National Agency made a proposal to turn to natural resources for the recreation of citizens and the development of tourism. This year, the country has changed the rules for accounting and dividing forests by category and type of ownership.

According to the ministry, at the moment an eco-project to create new rehabilitation, leisure and tourist zones is under development.

The Swedish Government has expressed a desire to assist in its implementation, within the framework of the UN Development Program.
