The land and air borders of the state were closed to the movement of citizens due to the coronavirus pandemic. According to official estimates, almost 180 million people have been infected with the virus since March last year, including more than 3,800,000 fatal cases.

After the peak of the third wave of the incidence of quid in the country, the administration decided to lift the ban on movement across land borders from June 1, 2021.

As a result, passenger railway communication between neighboring states was established in the shortest possible time.

A few days ago, a train from Yerevan arrived in Adjara, making a stop in the capital of Georgia.
