The beginning of a new tradition: boulevard festival in Batumi

The great holiday of the boulevard is just around the corner. The long-awaited boulevard festival with a number of fun and informative events will begin in the Black Sea city of Batumi from Saturday, October 21, the organizers announced. As part of the festival, which will be held at the colonnades, guests will be provided with a variety of decorations and installations, while entertainment is also provided for children. The entertainment program starts at noon and will last until eleven in the evening.

Children will have the opportunity to take part in informative and fascinating "Green Lessons" and watch the dressed-up artists who will revive the historical events associated with the boulevard.

The organizers will also present an exhibition with retro pictures of the boulevard, which can be compared with modern photos. In addition, guests will be able to visit the fairs open on the boulevard and taste a variety of delicacies. A big concert by the Seaside band and the SALIO band will end the festival, and for music lovers who prefer electronic music, a wonderful DJ CHIKI will perform.

The history of Batumi Boulevard dates back to 1881. The idea of building a park on the embankment was proposed by the governor of the Batumi district - Alexey Smekalov (1838-1890). Gardeners from Prussia - Reslers and Reiers - were invited to erect the boulevard. Currently, Batumi Boulevard has a length of seven kilometers.
