"About Goddesses and women" - exhibition of Georgian artist Rusudan Khizanishvili
The exhibition of Georgian artist Rusudan Khizanishvili is being held in Tbilisi at the Window Project Gallery, which will last until May 3.
The gallery exhibits works created by the artist over the past four years. In them, Rusudan showed a woman not weak and defenseless, but a strong, sometimes cunning character who unites everything around her.
The women depicted in Khizanishvili's paintings do not belong to any particular era. It can be a sphinx woman, a flower woman, just a lady sitting in a chair. Khizanishvili keeps secret the names of the prototypes of his heroines.
Rusudan claims that films often serve as inspiration for her. Words also play a big role. Sometimes a word you hear can be the impetus for the creation of one or a series of works.
The design of the exhibition belongs to the young artist Lado Lomitashvili, who, having familiarized himself with the work of Rusudan, took as the basis of the exposition the soft orange tones often found in the artist's work.
The exhibition is divided into several portal spaces, which heats up the viewer's interest even more.
Despite the brightness and colorfulness of the paintings, Rusudan herself says that she works with 4-5 colors.
Khizanishvili lives and works in Tbilisi. Collaborates with galleries and festivals not only in Georgia, but also in Italy, Denmark.
The main directions of her activity are painting, creating collages. The artist is also experimenting with printed graphics.
