The Georgian band "Mgzavrebi" and their video for the song WALTZ, created by director Lado Kvatania, together with The Rolling Stones and Daft Punk were nominated for EMEA Awards 2023. This international award celebrates the most inspiring creative works from Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

In the category "Music Video of the Year", the Georgian clip "Mgzavrebi" competes with the works of world-famous musicians such as The Rolling Stones, Daft Punk, Travis Scott, Rosalia and others. The winner will be announced on November 22.

The plot of the clip "Mgzavrebi" tells the story of a young Georgian couple waiting for the birth of their daughter. At the same time, the main character is faced with a tragic loss – the death of his mother, from which he is very worried.

The clip consists of a mysterious ritual of washing with milk, in which the image of the deceased mother participates. As a result of this ritual, an elderly woman turns into a child, and this scene alternates with shots of the birth of her daughter. The clip ends with an important element – the baby has a mole above the eyebrow, the same as the mother of the main character.

Lado Kvatania is a well–known director, author of three short films and music videos for artists such as rapper Husky and the Leningrad group. In addition, he was the director of the movie "Execution", which was released on big screens in 2021. Quatania, who has a theater education, graduated from RATI-GITIS and studied screenwriting with John Truby and Paul Brown.

Lado Quatania's works have been recognized as great at various festivals and have been awarded many awards, including the Young Director Award in Cannes. He also collaborates with well-known global brands. In Russia, Kvatania is currently working with Hype Production.
