Georgia will develop fisheries
Georgia buys fish abroad. The share of domestic fish production is 1% of GDP. Aquaculture production is the breeding of fish, mollusks and seaweed in natural and artificial water bodies.
Georgia has all conditions for the development of fisheries and fish farms: sea, rivers, lakes, reservoirs and not lazy labor force. Aquaculture producers need government assistance and investments.
To incentivize private producers, the Georgian government has decided to issue aquaculture permits for up to 20 years. The permit will be issued to fish farm owners under a simplified scheme, bypassing bureaucracy.
