Drawing graphs of numbers and trends, we take a look at a colorful portrait of the changes that have occurred in the import of petroleum products to Georgia over the past ten years. This journey through time layers and numbers will provide us with a deeper understanding of the transformations in the Georgian energy picture.

According to the report issued by the Union of Importers of Petroleum Products of Georgia, in the period from January to June 2023, the most significant volume of automobile fuel was delivered from Russia (81.1%). This figure underlines the importance of the neighboring country in providing Georgia with energy resources.

In addition to Russia, the list of fuel suppliers for Georgia also includes the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine and Bulgaria. These countries together delivered 1.2 thousand tons of gasoline and diesel fuel to the Georgian land in the first six months of this year.

The total volume of imported gasoline and diesel fuel for six months amounted to an impressive 554.2 thousand tons, which exceeds the same data last year by 6.2%. This indicates the dynamic development of the energy sector in Georgia and the active attention to maintaining sustainable fuel supplies.

In the context of total fuel imports, the share of gasoline is 56.1%. It is worth noting that regular fuel brands, such as A-91, account for 60.9%, while premium fuel A-95 – 37.1%. This indicates the preferences of consumers and their desire to choose the fuel that meets the requirements of their cars.

The history of the import of petroleum products to Georgia is not just numbers, but a reflection of the economic realities and aspirations of the nation. Russia, as the main fuel supplier, plays an important role in ensuring Georgia's energy stability, while the diversity of suppliers shows the country's desire for diversification and reliability of energy infrastructure.
