The mosque stands in the eastern part of Marneuli, about two kilometres from the Imam Husayn mosque. For a town of this size several mosques are ordinary: each serves its own quarter.
Marneuli was declared a town in the second half of the twentieth century and grew quickly as the centre of an agricultural district. Tbilisi is about thirty kilometres away on a good road. The eastern quarters give out onto fields and orchards, beyond which lies the Borchaly plain.
Agree any photography inside with the community, as shooting without permission is not accepted. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.
