Georgia issued 8,632 construction permits in the first nine months
In January-September 2026, 8,632 construction permits were issued in Georgia, 0.4% more than a year earlier. Geostat published the figures.
The total area covered by the issued permits was 8.65 million sq. m, up 2%. Tbilisi accounts for 48.1% of issued permits. Kvemo Kartli follows with 8.9%, Kakheti with 8.2% and Adjara with 7.8%.
Commissioned facilities are reported separately. A total of 2,307 facilities were put into operation, 5.9% fewer than a year ago. Their combined area was 2.54 million sq. m, up 2.8%. The statistics record permits and facilities already accepted into operation as separate measures.
