Kojori Waterfalls near Tbilisi: Korogli Fortress Hike

Most tourists who come to Georgia to enjoy the unique local nature have to make a long journey into the country. Of course, this makes sense.

But why go to the ends of the earth on a short vacation when there are places with mesmerizing beauty just outside of Tbilisi? One of these places is located near the village of Kodjori.

It is only a half-hour drive from the Georgian capital, and importantly, it can be reached on a budget using public transportation.

The hike includes a visit to the Korogli Fortress, which is located at the top of a mountain. From there, you can enjoy a stunning view of the surrounding area. The route then takes you through a forest along a river with numerous waterfalls, some of which are quite impressive in height.

On our way, we will pass by the Kabeni Monastery, where we will take a break. After regaining our strength and eating a snack, we will continue our journey to the village of Kiketi, where the hike will end. From there, you can take a bus back to Tbilisi.

During the warm season, you can swim in the river, so bring your swimsuits and bathing suits.
