Rent accommodation wisely

The most budget-friendly option is a hostel, at $7 per night. The surrounding beauty, the sea, the mountains, allows you to save on accommodation. However, you'll spend more on excursions, entertainment, and so on.

A rented apartment costs $20 per night. Again, my friends, that's the minimum. But for that price, you can find a decent furnished apartment. Yes, there's the sea here, and there are first and second line beaches, and so on. But, for reference, in Batumi, it's a leisurely hour's walk from one end to the other. So don't rush to rent a place right by the sea; everything is quite close here. Plus, taxis are cheap; you can travel all over Batumi for a dollar.

Batumi has a huge number of hotels. Check out Madloba's directory; it has links to all the hotels in the city and Georgia as a whole. What's so valuable about the directory's information? It has lots of real customer reviews. You can stay in a budget hotel for two people starting from $30.

How I like to do the math. In a hostel for five, the average price is $10—that's $50 a night. You could rent an apartment for that price. If you're traveling with three people, it's cheaper to find a mid-range apartment.

So, for ten days, let's estimate:

Hostel: $70;

Apartment: $250;

Hotel: $350.

Meals in Batumi: Three Options

This is a major expense item. The range here is even greater. What's good for a Russian is terrible for a German, and vice versa. I mean, consider your diet and your budget. Option one: Cook for yourself, buy groceries at the store. In my experience, it's $20 per day for two people. That's without going to restaurants.

For ten days: $200.

Option two: A hearty homemade breakfast. Snacks on the road, a sandwich, vegetables, or fruit. Dinner at a cafe. This costs about $40 per day.

For ten days: $400.

Option three. I really like it. About $50-60 per day for two people to eat. There's a great store in Batumi called AgraHub. It has a huge, well-stocked delicatessen offering a wide variety of dishes. The food is high-quality, delicious, and sold fresh. Prepared meals are heated up, and you can eat right there at your table. This is a lighter version of a cafe; you can have breakfast and lunch this simple way. The culinary quality is high, and eating here is a pleasure. Salads, dorado, salmon, and everything in between. And in the evening, we go to a restaurant. By the way, Madlob's directory contains links not just to restaurants and cafes, but mostly to those where locals dine.

Ten days – $600.
