A wealthy merchant Zahariy Saradzhishvili built a house for himself. The mansion was much more modest, and perhaps smaller in size. And it was rebuilt by his son, a well-known entrepreneur and philanthropist David Saradzhishvili. The one who founded several cognac factories in the Russian Empire. The initials of the owner on the front door. I push them, and they gently give in. Marble stairs, a luxurious mirror, a lamp. There is a portrait of the owner David Sarajishvili on the wall.

Such an amazing place. My time here was among the highlights of my visit to Tbilisi.

As a visitor, I felt fortunate to meet the founder of this house, the remarkable philanthropist David Sarajishvili, and to learn about his legacy. He is one of those individuals who really makes you appreciate the history of this land.

    May he rest in peace.

A stunning house with a cool blend of old and modern styles. You can explore the inside, where you'll find some furniture that belonged to David Sarajishvili and a map of the cognac factories. The garden is quite lovely too.

I spent about six weeks at the Writers' House of Georgia earlier this year, and it quickly felt like home.

The architecture is beautiful, featuring traditional Georgian decor that adds a lot of charm.

My room was surprisingly quiet for Tbilisi, and the beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable. As a light sleeper, I was amazed at how well I slept each night.

The location is ideal, just a short walk from Liberty Square.

What really makes this place special is the staff.

Khatuna, the manager, is one of the kindest and most patient individuals I've ever met. She went above and beyond to assist me with everything, not just my stay. Her knowledge of Georgian culture is impressive.

Ana, who worked the night shifts, was also delightful—positive and easy to talk to.

I learned a lot about Georgia through my conversations with both of them.

I faced serious health issues during my stay and wasn’t the easiest guest, but the kindness and support I received from everyone at the Writers' House during this tough time meant a lot to me.

    I highly recommend this place.
