The church of the Virgin stands at Chinurebi, on the very edge of Kareli. The place carries a second name, Chandrebi: both toponyms are in use and refer to the same area on the northern edge of the town.
The town church of Saint George is about half a kilometre away, so this is effectively the outskirts of the district centre rather than a separate village. The two churches combine naturally into one short walk: both are minutes from the central streets of Kareli. Further north lie the village churches of the municipality, Dirbi and Breti with their convents.
The church is active and the usual rules apply: covered clothing, quiet, a headscarf for women. It may keep no schedule, but you can walk up and see it from outside freely.
