The Nativity of the Virgin, Ghvtismshoblis Shoba in Georgian, is marked in September and is one of the twelve principal feasts of the church year. The dedication is rarer than the Dormition, so the church in Tseronisi stands out among the Marian churches of the district.
The village lies in the hilly north-eastern part of Kareli Municipality, among the same ridges that hold Satsikhuri, Avlevi and Atotsi. Taken separately such places get lost, while together they form a coherent picture of rural Kartli: a church in nearly every village, often more than one.
No dating or detail has become attached to the building. The road runs through the hills and is unpaved in places. Dress soberly, women bring a headscarf.
